For this Figma exercise our tutor slapped on a javascript that randomized a music genre on everynoiseatonce.com. The goal: Create the UI for a music label that only deals with your given genre. For me, the randomizer stopped at Arkansas Country. Not country in general, but country that originates from Arkansas.
When researching the artists and the music that springs from the Arkansas country scene, I noticed two common lyrical themes: christianity and wanting to leave everything behind. This is what inspired the name of the label. Over Yonder means "over there, in the distance." It's also old and traditional english, much like religion, old and traditional.

I worked a lot with grids in this project, while also focusing on user friendliness. The Arkansas country scene is rather small, and therefore I also wanted to make it feel as if you're entering the page of a family owned label in the south that really cares a lot about the craft and their artists. I wouldn't choose wooden panels anywhere in my personal designs, but I've treated this fictional label as a customer, and in my mind that would be an obvious choice if I were a country label myself.
